SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Mar. 02, 2018 – ICU Medical, Inc., a worldwide leader in the development, manufacture and sale of innovative medical devices used in infusion therapy and critical care applications, today announced its Plum 360TM infusion system will be recognized as the top performing IV smart pump by KLAS Research, a leading global healthcare research firm, during the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference (HIMSS18) in Las Vegas.
In its 2018 Best in KLAS: Software & Services report, the Plum 360 Best in KLAS designation is based on feedback from thousands of healthcare providers throughout the United States and Canada and results from in depth side-by-side comparisons of IV smart pump performance in multiple categories, including functionality and upgrades, sales and contracting, and services and support. ICU Medical will be recognized on March 5, 2018, at the KLAS Awards Reception during HIMSS18.
The Best in KLAS award reflects the commitment to patient and clinician safety and IV therapy innovation designed into the Plum 360 and demonstrates the value of the enhancements built into the system. The Plum 360's unique fluid delivery technology results in important workflow benefits for secondary deliveries and, when combined with the ICU Medical MedNetTM IV medication safety software, provides complete IV-EHR interoperability to help maximize clinical efficiency, reduce errors, increase patient safety and optimize reimbursement.
This recognition signifies that Plum 360 not only outperforms all other large volume smart pumps on the market today, but that ICU Medical also provides its customers with the highest level of service and support. The award marks the first time the Plum 360 pump has been included in the evaluations, and the first time ICU Medical has received a Best in KLAS designation. ICU Medical added the Plum 360 to its product portfolio as a result of the acquisition of Hospira Infusion Systems from Pfizer in February 2017.
"This is very significant to us at ICU Medical," said Dan Woolson, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of ICU Medical Infusion Systems. "Beyond the recognition, we see this honor as an expression of the capabilities and service we provide to our customers. Helping them to achieve clinical excellence is what we strive for every day."
