Normoflo Irrigation Fluid Warmer

Normoflo Irrigation Fluid Warmer

The Normoflo irrigation fluid warmer delivers large volumes of warmed irrigating fluids at optimum flow rates. The device helps you maintain your patient’s core temperature during the entire length of the procedure, helping to prevent unintended perioperative hypothermia (UPH). UPH (core body temperature below 36°C) is a common yet preventable consequence of surgery under general anesthesia. Adverse outcomes of UPH include cardiac morbidity, intraoperative blood loss, thermal discomfort, increased wound infection rates, prolonged recovery times, and extended hospital stays.¹

Research shows that using room-temperature fluids may contribute to perioperative hypothermia.² That’s why the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Guidelines for Prevention of Hypothermia recommends warm irrigation fluids, an active method to help maintain patient normothermia and improve recovery outcomes.³

ICU Medical offers two irrigation options. The H1100 is intended for gravity flow procedures, while the H-1129 offers the same features plus pressurized fluid delivery via integrated pressure chambers as well as 3-liter pressure cuffs.

  • Delivers large volumes of warmed irrigation fluid at flow rates of > 2,000 mL/min.
  • Both irrigation models allow quick and easy bag changes with the electrical IV pole that can automatically lift up to four 3-liter bags of fluid.
  • Includes mechanisms to remove air after warming and prior to patient irrigation, resulting in a clear, bubble-free field of vision.
  • Attaches to standard surgical tools, hand pieces, and scopes.
