Portex BLUperc and BLUgriggs Percutaneous Dilation Kits

Every Breath Counts

You asked, we listened.

After interviewing hundreds of clinicians we have improved our tracheostomy insertion kits to better meet your needs. Patient outcomes matter. Our goal was to create an all-inclusive percutaneous tracheostomy procedural kit to provide you with all the tools necessary to perform a tracheostomy inside or outside the Operating Theatre. Our BLUperc and BLUgriggs percutaneous insertion kits are designed to help you provide the best patient care.

Kits provide options for initial insertion to suit a wide variety of clinical-specific techniques.

Performing a tracheotomy at the bedside is a way to save your hospital money without jeopardizing patient care1.

ICU Medical provides training videos, technique guides and detailed instructional information for training new clinicians on percutaneous insertion.

ICU Medicals Bluperc And Blugriggs Kits

Full procedural kits

Both the BLUperc and BLUgriggs kits include everything needed to perform the procedure at the bedside or in the Operating Theatre in conjunction with other surgeries.

Single tray layout

Matches the steps in the clinical tracheotomy procedure. The kits are designed to flow counter-clockwise to be efficient so your patient has less time without a secure airway.

Patented S-Shaped Dilator

Every BLUperc kit includes our patented S-shaped dilator. The ergonomic shape is designed to help prevent over penetration of the trachea and damage to interior wall. Side-port access allows the guidewire to stay away from the patient’s head in the sterile field.

Forceps

Each BLUgriggs kit is equipped with forceps that are specially designed to slide along a positioned guidewire. The forceps distribute outward forces evenly along the large surface area of its curved jaws, minimizing the risk of compressive trauma to the trachea.

Patented design single-handed guidewire feeder

Allows clinician control; frees up one hand to maintain contact with the needle or cannula at all times until guidewire is placed. Guidewire feeder works well with either left or right hand.
