Overview

LifeShield Supercath 5 Catheter | ICU Medical - Human Connections

The Lifeshield Supercath 5 integral check valve and fully encased needle protection help reduce healthcare worker risk to blood exposure and needlestick injuries.

  • Integral check valve* helps reduce healthcare worker exposure risk to blood and bloodborne pathogens during venipuncture and initial IV administration set connection1

  • Retractable and fully encased needle protection helps reduce risks posed to healthcare workers from inadvertent needlesticks1

  • Side-notched introducer needle provides visual confirmation of vessel entry1

  • Advancing tab helps facilitate one-hand insertion and compliance with “no-touch” contamination protocols2

  • Ribbed grip helps clinician keep catheter in place during insertion

*The built-in check valve, together with the clinician’s finger pressure on the blood vessel, helps reduce blood flashback when the needle is withdrawn. The built-in check valve is not intended to stop bleeding completely.
